What Did Rin Tin Tin’s Trainer Say?

Lee Duncan, owner-trainer of all Rin Tin Tin dogs, insisted on this basic point, “…the first step in controlling your dog is to be able to control yourself.”

Duncan never yelled at, frightened or quickly raised his arms toward his dogs. Not one of his puppies or dogs became afraid of him.  He wanted his dogs to learn because they enjoyed the tasks he set for them. And Rin Tin Tin dogs demonstrated, over and over, on and off movie sets, that they loved working, loved their trainer, and loved hamming it up for live audiences.
