Does Your Dog Love to Drive?

“Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear.”

Dave Barry U.S. author, humorous columnist quoted in Spott’s Canine Miscellany.

Buckle up! Ive got my seat belt on.

As a dog, I say, “Yap. Yap! Dave Barry got that right.”

I love to go. And I love barking. We dogs love barking like people love talking. And I see nothing wrong with that. So take us with you, we want to go.

And please, don’t just take us to the veterinarian once a year. We want to go to the park, we want to go shopping, we want to visit your friends.

Where do you drive your dog?

Do you let him drive?

  1. Yep, we canines love to get behind the wheel. My human and me went hunting with a friend and his pointers, Trixie and Dixie. Now Dixie loves to get behind the wheel. We pulled into a gas station and Dixie was sitting in the driver’s seat of the Jeep we towed behind. Her paws were resting on the wheel. We’d pulled into a “full service” lane and an attendent had a shocked look as he approached, the tow bar shielded by other vehicles. My buddy said, “Filler up,” and as the man complied he asked, “How long did it take to teach your dog to do that?”
