The Double-Edged Sword of Freedom

Boy is this ever true and vital. We’ve got the power to vote, to write our elected officials, to show up at their offices or call. Take action for liberating animals from overpopulation and suffering. Thanks for caring and taking action for dogs.


Today we in the US celebrate the birth of our nation, and we remember the cost to our ancestors for winning our freedom. 

Freedom and democracy have brought many positive changes to our nation and to the world. It has also allowed a small, but well-funded, vocal minority to dictate what laws will govern our land. Why? Because many of us have exercised our right to choose and have chosen to not vote and to not get involved in political action.

We have, in effect, given away our piece of the power of government and allowed ourselves to believe we are helpless to be a force for change.

The irony is that nothing could be further from the truth.

When people get on board with a cause and start talking it up to their elected officials, those elected officials listen.
