I wish Facebook would fade away
Top referral numbers came from Facebook. Which is odd. Being my least favorite social network, I often think of deleting my profile. So far, I stick with because of my writers’ club, Redwood Writers and some of the great conversations that have led to dog adoptions and the adoption of our rescue rabbit, Yoshi.
Why I like Twitter
I like Twitter because the site’s “hastags” make it topic searchable.
Plus Twitter tops most search engines in speed, is often more to the point. Twitter was designed for scanning quickly. Twitter makes it easy to search by area, by trending topics both regional, nationally or worldwide. I like fast results and from multiply sources. Find me on Twitter using the “handle” or user name @dtfpress.
About Me: A Free Webpage
Lately, I happen to like the free ( dot.me) site. Just put up a new page there today. View it at About.me dtfpress.
I turned my top viewed post, 1,548 hits in one day, into a page accessible from my menu, view it at No More Death By Collar.
What this report fails to mention is that we have surpassed 25,729 views!
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for Dog Leader Mysteries blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 7,800 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 7 trips to carry that many people.

I also prefer Twitter to Facebook – especially for blog linking. But it remains true that FB shares do drive more clicks for me, too.

Thanks for what works for you.
I wonder why when I retweet so many blogs, friend’s post links & interesting content, that my rate of return is about 1 to 50.
Just me? Perhaps we should run a survey?
But then I don’t follow the social media guru advice to pump a new post up to 8 times a day.
What do you use to manage your tweets and access Twitter? Any tips?

I joined Triberr for dog blogs that does generate tweets of new post for me by others, but I can’t say that those tweets actually result in any hits – maybe the odd one, but it’s very, very rare. And I don’t like how Triberr dominates some Twitter feeds to the point it looks robotic, so I’m selective about sharing posts myself and only share ones I’ve actually read. But my Twitter is both personal and blog – I only run one account.
I just use the good ol’ Twitter (and Echophon on my iPhone) apps for my profile.

I don’t like Facebook or Twitter, but I do have more fun at Facebook. I can’t see me trying to say something in 140 characters in this century or the next. I would have to think too hard to come up with all the appropriate abbreviations…………….
