“The books that help you most are those which make you think the most. The hardest way of learning is by easy reading: but a great book that comes from a great thinker– it is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and with beauty.”
Theodore Parker
Dear Readers and Writers,
Two days ago, a migraine erased a day and a half from my life. Going to sleep with a headache became waking at 4 AM in pain. Nothing to do but take small measures to change that condition by slow process of sipping water, waiting, swallowing medicine, waiting while keeping away from lamplight then sunlight, more baby sips of water, waiting….
Illness means not reading or writing. Doing nothing not come easily. Slowly by midday, I felt able to open my eyes, walk and even enjoy the pleasure of sitting in our garden with sunlight warming my whole being.
So please forgive my late response. What delicious comments I find this Sunday morning.
Warmly,
Deborah Taylor-French
PS. Can you name a book on animals or pets, which still interests you? We read Doctor Dolittle to our daughter. Now that treasure of wild and wonderful ideas, being able to talk to animals and to try to understand the language of even “shell-fish” still intrigues me.
Each black and white dog or rabbit you see below, at one time needed rescue, shelter and a new home. Luckily, each got taken in to a loving home. So please spread the word, save homeless pets’ lives and always, adopt, don’t shop.

Deborah, I hope you feel better soon. Migraines are so painful and completely debilitating. I usually get them, when I’m a bit ‘burnt out’ and my body says ‘JUST STOP’…..
ps I have an adopted black greyhound, with a white chest. Don’t seem to be able to post a photo here, though!
Happy Sunday
Rosee
